Overview

All-on-4 and All-on-6 are advanced implant techniques that support a full arch of replacement teeth using just four or six strategically placed implants. Dr. Amini uses this approach for patients who have lost all or most of their teeth, providing a fixed, permanent solution that restores chewing function, preserves facial structure, and eliminates the need for removable dentures.

Who This Is For

  • Patients who are edentulous (missing all teeth) in one or both arches
  • Individuals with failing remaining teeth who need comprehensive replacement
  • Those who struggle with traditional removable dentures and want a fixed solution
  • Patients with moderate bone loss who may not be candidates for individual implants

Who This Is Not For

  • Patients with severe, untreated periodontal disease (must be treated first)
  • Individuals with uncontrolled systemic conditions affecting surgical healing
  • Those with unrealistic expectations about dietary restrictions after treatment
  • Heavy smokers without willingness to significantly reduce or quit

The Process

1

Consultation & Digital Planning: Dr. Amini performs CBCT imaging and digital planning to determine optimal implant positions. The final prosthetic is designed virtually before surgery using a prosthetically driven approach.

2

Surgery: All implants are placed in a single surgical session under IV sedation or general anesthesia. The posterior implants are often placed at an angle to maximize bone contact and avoid anatomical structures.

3

Immediate Function: In many cases, a fixed temporary prosthesis is delivered on the same day as surgery, so you leave with functional, aesthetically pleasing teeth.

4

Final Prosthesis: After 4-6 months of healing and osseointegration, the final custom-milled prosthesis (typically titanium-reinforced or zirconia) is delivered for permanent function.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is All-on-4 different from All-on-6?
All-on-4 uses four implants per arch, while All-on-6 uses six. The choice depends on your bone density, arch size, and functional needs. All-on-6 provides additional stability for larger arches or higher bite forces.
Can All-on-4 be done in one day?
Teeth-in-a-day protocols allow for placement of the implants and delivery of a fixed temporary prosthesis in a single appointment. The final permanent prosthesis is delivered after healing.
Is All-on-4 better than traditional dentures?
For most patients, yes. All-on-4 provides fixed, stable teeth that don't move or click, preserve jawbone, and restore up to 90% of natural chewing function compared to 20-30% with dentures.
What is the cost of All-on-4?
Cost varies based on complexity, materials chosen, and whether extractions or grafting are needed. Dr. Amini provides a detailed cost breakdown and discusses financing options during consultation.
